Shishito | Hot Pepper
Shishito peppers are a Japanese pepper variety that are easy to grow and can be a good choice for beginner gardeners. These are milder than jalapeños, but spicier than bell peppers (which have no heat at all), and can be used in many recipes. They're mildly sweet and savory, with a slightly smoky flavor, and are not usually spicy, but about one in ten may have a quick, mild kick of heat. Some say they taste herbal and refreshing.
