Indigo Rose Tomato
The Indigo Rose , also known as the "blue tomato" or "purple tomato", has a unique purple, blue, or black color. It was developed by Jim Myers at Oregon State University and released in 2011, and was one of the first "antho tomatoes". This means it contains anthocyanins, a pigment that turns tomatoes purple-black in sunlight, which deepens with more sun exposure. It does however, lose some of its purple as it ripens.
